Bongeunsa Buddhist Temple, one of the greatest millennial temples where not only the aspiration of the Great Buddhist monk Bowoo who revived the Buddhism during the Joseon Dynasty of "Buddhism Oppression and Confucianism Veneration" period but also the spirit of the Great monks Seosan and Samyung who saved Joseon Dynasty, is now making the new history on Korean Buddhism owing to its practice and propagation- centered temple management system.

As a practicing temple which is respecting and loving all the lives of sentient beings who are now living together with us, Bongeunsa will play its best role for devotees enlightenment and monks efforts

In addition, keeping thousand-year-long history and having possessed a total of 40 pieces Buddhist Cultural Properties including two pieces designated as National treasures, Bongeunsa Temple has various programs available which internationals as well as Koreans who have not met Buddhism yet, can experience the unique Korean Buddhism culture and the real life of the monks through the Templelife and Templestay programs based on the good contents of Buddhism culture.

Expecting lots of your participation and inheriting the spirit of former Buddhist Patriarchs as well as thousand-year-long history, I will also do my utmost efforts to keep elaborating this temple not only to be the best one in future for real practicing, propagation of Sakyamuni Buddha's Teachings and Bodhisattva action but also to be the central temple that will brighten up the new millennium of Korean Buddhism.
